VANTAGE is associated with over thousands of farmers in India as well abroad. Our farmers come from various geographic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds. We work with farmers from the ground level up in the Guna and the Barmer districts of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, respectively.

Farmlife at Guna, Madhya Pradesh

Guna, situated in the Malwa plateau of Madhya Pradesh, is located on the banks of the Parvati River and has a rich agro history. The main crops sown during the Kharif season include soyabean and maize while rapeseed and wheat are sown during the Rabi season.

Organic farming takes place when you ensure biodiversity and sustainable ecology of all the living things in a particular area. Guna’s culture, wild environments, and crop patterns are all bio-diversified. The area has no monoculture, making it one of Madhya Pradesh’s leading organic areas.

Farmlife at Barmer, Rajasthan

Besides Guna, Vantage is associated with thousands of farmers in the Barmer district as well, situated in the western part of Rajasthan. It is second the largest district of Rajasthan.

As Rajasthan is a drought-prone area, an estimated 80% of farmers depend on rainwater for agricultural production. Specific cultivation such as Millet is grown during the Kharif season while Rapeseed, Cumin and Psyllium are grown during the Rabi season.

Vantage’s International Projects

Vantage has spread its roots to other parts of the world apart from India. It helps promote organic agriculture in several countries of Africa. We started exploring organic farming projects outside of India in early 2014. Currently, we work with farmers from Tanzania, Nigeria, Benin, Malawi, and the Netherlands, among others.

Farmers are our backbone. They come with diverse innovation, knowledge and problems worth solving tactics. It is because of them, we became what we are today, and will be because they will be supporting our growth in the long run.
