Organic Soybeans

Soybeans, also known as soya beans, are the beans of a species of legume. Soybeans are harvested either green or mature and then sold fresh or dried. Soybeans are relatively easy to produce using organic methods. However, organic farms do not focus on a single crop. Organic soybeans are best grown in rotation with several other crops that complement or compensate one another.

Organic soybeans are sold in premium process and are divided into two type, namely food-grade, and feed-grade. Organic food-grade soybeans are used in food products such as tofu, tempeh, and soymilk. Producers who raise livestock for certified meat production use organic feed-grade soybeans. Organic feed-grade soybeans are used to develop organic livestock feed, which is required to be fed to livestock by producers who raise certified organic meat.
